Tattoo Aftercare

If your tattoo is bandaged with second skin:

  • Remove the bandage after 7 days.

  •  If the bandage is difficult to remove, remove in the shower or under water.

  • Remove the bandage slowly from top to bottom.

  • Apply provided vitamin A & D ointment to your tattoo whenever dry until your tattoo is fully healed.

If your tattoo has the traditional bandaging:

  • Remove the wrap within 2 hours of leaving the shop.

  • Lather our hands with a gentle unscented soap, and very gently wash your tattoo with the soap and rinse.

  • Pat dry with a paper towel. DO NOT use a cloth towel. DO NOT rub the tattoo.

  • Wash once in the morning, and once at night.

  • DO NOT over wash the tattoo.

  • DO NOT re-wrap the tattoo.

  • After 2-3 days, begin to apply provided vitamin A & D ointment to the tattoo until healed.

During the healing process:

  • Apply a thin layer to vitamin A & D ointment. DO NOT oversaturate the tattoo.

  • If you run out of A & D ointment, any plain unscented lotion will work.

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 10-14 days.

  • For 2 weeks, do not submerge your tattoo. (ex – baths, dishes, pools, hot tubs, etc).

  • Do not rub, scratch, or pick at your tattoo while it is healing. Patting the tattoo is okay to relieve itching.

  • After two weeks, apply a minimum of SPF 25 sunscreen to your tattoo to avoid fading/damaging your new tattoo.

Please follow the aftercare instructions to ensure the longevity of your tattoo.
